Licensing Process

Obtaining a license through Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) requires thought, research, and commitment. Those companies capable of exhibiting a commitment to the collegiate market, who have established production and distribution capabilities, and/or who offer a new or unique product will be granted the opportunity to obtain a license.

The licensing process varies in length, based upon the licensee’s responsiveness to CLC's/Purdue's requests and how quickly the policies and requirements are met. The process is divided into three stages:

  1. Complete and submit a CLC licensing application.
  2. Submit designs and/or samples incorporating the marks of the institution; obtain product liability insurance; purchase CLC holograms per the labeling requirements; complete product specification sheets; and complete the Authorized Manufacturer's Agreement (if applicable).
  3. Execute the CLC Standard Retail Product License Agreement and the CLC Special Agreement Regarding Labor Codes of Conduct; provide factory site disclosure; and pay all advance and administrative fees.

Applying for a License

If you are interested in obtaining a license, visit CLC’s licensing page. Once you have completed the required fields, you will have access to the CLC application. Please review the application before submitting it to understand the requirements and process for licensing.

If you still have questions after reviewing the application, please contact Purdue Trademark Licensing or CLC. Be sure to include your name, company name, and phone number in your e-mail.
